A win for Rugby AC (634 ) Swansea second (515) , Solihull third (396)
A lack of available athletes meant we did not contest several events especially in the U17s.
Injuries also caused a selection problem.
We had some excellent performances on the day but won only 15 out of a possible 82 events.

This was our first competition of the season and what a glorious day it turned out to be. This season we are in the Avon Division and up against some very strong competition, with the likes of Cardiff, Plymouth & Cornwall (Composite) and SE Wales (Composite). Coventry Godiva, Avon Spa and Bristol & West/Mendip (Composite) are also in this Division.
We went with a team of 9 men and 6 women covering a total of 72 events between them, but this didn’t deter our athletes who were willing to fill events they wouldn’t normally dream of doing, well done to them!
The following athletes either came 1st or achieved Grade 1, 2 or 3 in their events:

In an inter university competition Claire Tarplee running for Loughborough against Brunel University, the Army & Charnwood, set a CLUB RECORD in the senior women 1500m of 4.23.02 She was 2nd behind Hannah Whitmore. Congratulations to Claire.

Following an exciting final meeting SSHAC emerged as winners in 3 age groups out of 6, with the Under 13 Girls teams and the Under 15 Boys & Girls teams a close second to Birchfield.

Katie Stainton was the winner of the Under 15 All-Rounder competition, with Ciaran Dunnion second in the Boys with Ross James in third place.
Solihull parents (& grandparents & friends) made up a large proportion of the spectators, as did a large contingent of supporters from Birchfield who have had strong teams again this season. This has been another exciting season in which the Solihull team of athletes, coaches and willing parents received their reward!
