Solihull and Small Heath Athletic Club is hosting Brueton parkrun at 9:00 on Saturday 21st December, so we want as many of our athletes as possible to join in and help out. Brueton parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5K run, which is run entirely by volunteers. Therefore, although we would like as many of our athletes as possible to run, we also need to provide some of the volunteers. If you think that you, or your family and friends will be able to help out, please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
All volunteering jobs are quite simple, and mostly include just marshalling the course, and pointing the runners in the right direction. We would ask our volunteers to arrive for 8:45 am, to help us get organised for the event, and they will not be needed beyond about 9:45. We are also looking for some of our more senior athletes to act as pacemakers for the other runners. Again, if you are interested in helping us out with this, please send an email to the above address. We are currently looking for pacers for the following times: 22, 24, 26, 28, 30 and 35 minutes.
To take part in the event, you must first register with parkrun, at www.parkrun.org.uk . This is a quick and easy process, however if you have registered with parkrun before, you do not need to register again. After having registered, print off your personal barcode, and bring this with you on the day of the event. Please do not forget your barcode, as with no barcode, you will not get a result. This event has been a great success in the past, so we would like as lots of people to get involved, and for runners to turn up in club vests, if possible. An additional incentive to participate is that all junior participants will receive a free edible gift at the end.
If you have any questions about the event please email either email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get in touch with you.
